People think I'm weird because I like to dress in the fashion of the late 1860s. Am I?
Q. Specifically what miners(gold panners) wore. I have a long beard. I just feel more comfortable in my miner clothes. People call me "Ye Ole Prospector". People always ask where my mules are. I don't see what's so weird about it. Oh, I'm 28 if that helps.

A. You're not weird, but people feel threatened by your expression of your individuality. They don't have the guts to wear fashions that aren't presently popular and don't understand you. You are unique, eccentric perhaps, individualistic, different, memorable, and interesting. Weird is just an expression people use when they are too lazy to think up words that are more descriptive. It doesn't matter what age you are, but if you are into prospecting, that's cool. There's another person on these forums who fits that description, but he's over 60. He's got a lot of years of prospecting experience. If you are just dressing up like a prospector and don't actually get out into the wilds, that's a little sad, though, and maybe a little bit weird… [cont.]
