Is Kapampangan dialect vanishing?
Q. I've noticed that most of the youth in Pampanga are now speaking tagalog language. Does it means this is the start of Kapampangan dialect extinction?
Asked by patlite - Mon Jul 20 21:00:53 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. of course not. just like any other Filipino dialect these days, it's still spoken in the household and at work among people from the same place. Tagalog just happens to be mainstream media... on the national news, on local drama, etc.

Q. how do you say have a nice day in kapampangan?
Asked by karrie - Sat Dec 23 20:43:49 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. there is no such exact translation for this in capampangan, because saying "have a nice day" is in future tense, thus you can express this in present tense as "mayap a aldo keka" or "masanting a aldo keka" and we don't usually use closing greetings like "have a nice day" after a conversation, also mayap a aldo keka or masanting a aldo keka are rarely use in capampangan conversation nowadays. because now we are already using "good morning po","good afternoon po".and"good evening po" just like in tagalog conversation>

Are you a kapampangan in the U.S.?
Q. A visiting Kapampangan kababayan was in New York City and it was a particularly windy day. He was standing by a bus stop when the wind blew and raised the skirt of a nice American lady standing near him. He smiled at her (wanting to make conversation) and said, "It's hairy, isn't it?" (What he meant to say was that it was "airy" - mahangin or windy) The American lady got mad and hit him with her umbrella and said, "Well, what did you expect - feathers?!" bwisit...hehe, CRV!
